Transcend Announces New SSD570 Solid-state Drives for Industrial and Embedded Applications

Transcend is one of the most known storage solutions manufacturers in the world and one of the top brands when it comes industrial-grade storage solutions. And today the company has announced a new line of solid-state drives, the SSD570, for industrial and embedded applications.

The new 2.5-inch form factor drives feature a new Transcend TS6500 controller and an SLC NAND flash which, according to the company, lead to higher stability in data retention and longer endurance than an MLC NAND flash. The controller and flash also guarantee faster transfer speeds, longer read/write endurance, and lower error rates. The drive itself also features a shock and vibration resistant design to prevent errors and data loss. According to Transcend, the new controller and flash alongside the SATA III 6Gb/s interface enables the drive to reach transfer speeds of up to 510MB/s read and 450MB/s write.

The SSD570 drives also feature a built-in Intelligent Power Shield function which protects the drives data in the event of a sudden power loss during data transfer. The IPS function also prolongs the time before the drive enters write protection mode during a power cut-off to ensure data integrity and protect the drive from damage. Lastly, the SSD570 comes with a slew of add-on value-added technologies such as a device sleep mode, S.M.A.R.T capabilities, security commands, a built-in ECC, and a global wear-leveling algorithm, all of which contribute to the drive’s overall reliability, stability, and durability.

The Transcend SSD570 solid-state drives will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage capacities and will come with the company’s three-year limited warranty.
